Winter Passage was captured at Bow Lake in Banff National Park on the morning after a fresh snowfall, when the shoreline had settled into deep soft pillows of snow and the light coming through the clouds was gentle and diffused, painterly, almost, the way light sometimes looks when the sky is doing something subtle and extraordinary. No harsh shadows, no dramatic color. Just stillness. Bow Lake sits along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, Alberta, at the foot of the Wapta Icefield, one of the most consistently beautiful locations in the Canadian Rockies across every season.
