Reflected Silence
I was on my way home from Abraham Lake, tired and satisfied from a day of shooting, when Waterfowl Lake stopped me in my tracks. The water was completely still, the kind of stillness that only comes when the wind has held its breath. The reflection was so perfect it was almost disorienting. Then a burst of light broke from behind Mt. Chephren and everything turned gold. It lasted only a few minutes, but in those minutes the world felt entirely at peace. I wasn't in a hurry anymore. Some places have a way of reminding you to slow down, and this was one of them. I hope this image does the same for you.
