About This Print
Quiet Anticipation was captured at Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park before sunrise on a flat, overcast morning, the kind most photographers pack up and leave. The water was perfectly still, the clouds sitting low over the mountains, a loon calling somewhere out in the grey. It is a deliberately understated image, and that's exactly the point. Not every beautiful landscape announces itself with drama.

Lake Minnewanka is the largest lake in Banff National Park, sitting at the edge of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta.
