Aurora Over Peyto Lake was captured on a winter night in Banff National Park after a last-minute tip from a fellow photographer. The drive was two hours. The temperature was -30°C. The hike up to the viewpoint was completely dark. This is the image that changed everything, the first aurora James had ever witnessed, unfolding over one of the most iconic lakes in the Canadian Rockies on a frozen winter night.
This is a limited edition Master Collection fine art landscape photography print, available on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm cotton rag paper and as an acrylic face mount, the same archival standards used by fine art galleries worldwide. Peyto Lake sits high in Banff National Park along the Icefields Parkway in Alberta, its glacially fed turquoise water visible even beneath winter snow and ice. Northern lights photography of this quality, a full aurora display over an iconic mountain landscape, is exceptionally rare. Produced in a strictly limited run, hand-signed and numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Once the edition sells out, it will not be reprinted.
