This moment almost didn’t happen.

It was a rainy morning at Bow Lake, and I was running late—chasing the tail end of sunrise, hoping there might still be something worth shooting. When I arrived, the clouds broke just enough to let the light through, and suddenly, two vivid rainbows arched over the lake.

I didn’t even have time to set up my tripod. I fired off a couple of handheld shots, heart racing, trying to steady my breath—and just like that, they were gone. The light shifted, the rain moved on, and the scene vanished as quickly as it appeared.

I named it Chromatic Majesty because it truly felt like nature showing off—if only for a moment. One of those rare, fleeting gifts that reward you for simply showing up, even when you're late, even when it’s raining.

This image reminds me that some of the most beautiful things in life aren’t perfect, planned, or polished—they’re just real, and they don’t last long.
